Acknowledgement of Bega Valley Carers- Caring for Carers Event
Carers of the Bega Valley were acknowledged and celebrated and at the Caring for Carers event held at Wheelers Restaurant last week. The attendees were treated to a delicious morning tea and heard from Kate Jones the guest speaker.
This event was hosted by The Disability Trust with funding from the Mumbulla Community Foundation sought to address some of the feelings of isolation that some Carers experience . Participants also received a pamper pack and went into a draw for lucky door prizes.
The organiser of the Morning Tea, Peter Harvey from the Disability Trust said ‘It was wonderful to see Carers get to know each other and swap phone numbers throughout the day. That connection with each other is very important and needs to be encouraged”
