Further Education Scholarships – Closed

Mumbulla Community Foundation and Bega Valley Shire Council are offering ten (10) Further Education Scholarships for students aged between 17 and 26 years old, of up to $1000 each. The Further Education Scholarships provide an opportunity to recognise and assist students living in the Bega Valley Shire who are undertaking further education. The scholarships aim to: • Support the development of skills and abilities of students experiencing barriers to higher education in the Bega Valley • Encourage more young people living in the Bega Valley Shire to pursue further education • Raise the profile of young students • Promote further education options within the Bega Valley Shire • Retain students within the Bega Valley The scholarships aim to support the development of skills and abilities of students experiencing barriers to higher education in the Bega Valley. 2022 Community Grants Awards Ceremony

2022 Mumbulla Community Foundation Community Grants Awards were presented to 27 local community groups. Congratulations to all recipients. "What an inspiring bunch of people!" Dr Michael Holland, MP - member for Bega. "Truly happy event at Bega for the announcement of Mumbulla Community Foundation 2023 grants. Spiral Gallery Co-operative: Clay Fire and Community Ceramics Project 

Mumbulla Community Foundation supported Clay Fire and Community Ceramics Project, which included Ceramics Workshops for the community and the UnEarthed Exhibition. Ceramics Workshops  Spiral Gallery presented a series of workshops in differing areas of ceramics in order to attract a variety of attendees. They were run at Bega Valley Potters Studio at the Old Bega Hospital. Several members of Spiral Gallery are also members of the Valley Potters and the 2 groups work well together on projects much as this, sharing common interests and joint aspirations. The workshops provided opportunities for artists and the community to come together in a project that is not available very often in the Bega Valley. The UnEarthed Exhibition  The exhibition aimed to present a high quality ceramics exhibition showcasing work by established ceramicists from the Bega Valley region. Caring for Carers Event – Bega Valley

Acknowledgement of Bega Valley Carers- Caring for Carers Event Carers of the Bega Valley were acknowledged and celebrated and at the Caring for Carers event held at Wheelers Restaurant last week. The attendees were treated to a delicious morning tea and heard from Kate Jones the guest speaker. This event was hosted by The Disability Trust with funding from the Mumbulla Community Foundation sought to address some of the feelings of isolation that some Carers experience . Participants also received a pamper pack and went into a draw for lucky door prizes. The organiser of the Morning Tea, Peter Harvey from the Disability Trust said ‘It was wonderful to see Carers get to know each other and swap phone numbers throughout the day. That connection with each other is very important and needs to be encouraged”
