To support its activities the Foundation seeks private and business donations, receives a matching annual grant from Council, and undertakes its own fundraising activities which consist mainly of an annual Gala Dinner and a Guest Speaker Dinner.
Thank you to everyone who supported the 2016 Gala Dinner. It was a wonderful night of costume, friendship and giving. Nearly $20,000 was raised to support the charity, not-for-profit and educational organisations of the Bega Valley. Thank you to Bega Cheese for sponsoring the dinner, and all our other supporters, those who donated prizes for the auctions, and especially to those who so generously opened their hearts and pockets. Thank you also to the Merimbula News Weekly for its wonderful coverage and photos here.
The Mumbulla Foundation is pleased to announce a ‘Gold Donor’ program. Please ‘Give Where You Live’ and help the Foundation support the Bega Valley Shire Community.
The Foundation is very grateful to our inaugural Gold Donors: Carol Ladd, Cecilia Ng and Don Moffatt, Gary Potts and Frances Perkins, Michael and Manuela Darling, Pamela and Roger Davis, Phil and Loretta McDonald, Robyn Ormiston and John Downes, and Anonymous.
We held our second Guest Speaker Dinner in February 2015. The Guest Speaker was Professor Peter Doherty who shared the Noble Prize in Physiology of Medicine in 1996 for his discoveries about how the body’s defence mechanism against viruses works. The dinner was very well attended with Professor Doherty giving a very wide ranging and entertaining talk. Our inaugural Guest Speaker in 2013 was Dr Ken Henry, former Secretary of Treasury.
